- Luvotix® R-RF is a thixotropic agent based on inorganically-modified hydrogenated castor oil. Luvotix® R-RF is specifically designed for
- the incorporation in powder form.

- Performance Features Luvotix® R-RF effectively controls the rheology
- and flow properties of coating and putty systems.

- because the inorganic coating prevents the formation
- of agglomerates during the dispersion process.
- Applications In solvent-based coatings, Luvotix® R-RF displays
- its greatest efficiency in systems based on aliphatic
- hydrocarbons and binders with low solubility
- parameters. Uses include:
- ∙ Adhesives
- ∙ Alkyd resins
- ∙ Epoxy systems
- ∙ Industrial coatings
- ∙ Maintenance coatings
- ∙ Thickfilm systems
- In solvent-free systems, Luvotix® R-RF is well suited for:
- ∙ Caulks
- ∙ Epoxy systems
- ∙ Sealants
- ∙ UP-putties
- ∙ Powder coatings
- Processing The incorporation requires time and temperature-
- controlled shearing. Luvotix® R-RF must be added at the beginning of the dispersion process and premixed in the solvent/binder or vehicle. The pigments, fillers and other components are then added, followed by high shear dispersion for 15 - 20 minutes. For optimum processing and efficiency, the dispersing temperature should be controlled within the following recommended ranges:
- Solvent-free systems 95 - 130/140 °F
- 35 - 55/60 °C
- Aliphatic systems 95 - 130 °F
- 35 - 55 °C
- Aromatic systems max. 95/105 °F
- 35/40 °C
- Recommended 0,2 - 1,0 % based on total formulation weight.
